Logo
The Contentious logo has two forms: a monogram and a full wordmark. The monogram is the "C" of Contentious. It's generally preferred, and is used wherever a compact brand presence is needed. The wordmark is the full Contentious name, used more formally.
We use the logo as minimalistically as possible.
Monogram
Two paths form the Contentious C. It appears in the site header – where it shrinks on scroll and rotates on hover – the footer, and the style guide sidebar. A single dark fill is applied; the exact shade adapts to the surrounding background. It's also used (in both a dark and a light format, for light and dark modes) as the website favicon and on social media as the icon.
Wordmark
The full Contentious name. This version is used in the corner of the
homepage hero, rendered small, with a
var(--limestone) fill and 0.15 opacity. Like this it works as a
subtle signature and a badge of ownership, rather than shouty branding.
Downloads
Both marks are available as standalone SVGs in public/images/. They can also be downloaded from the right-click context menu on the
header logo on the main site.
